Last weekend I went home to celebrate my birthday, my Mom's birthday, Father's Day, and Dot's Baptism!
I got home late on Friday night and my parents were having a party at their house! It was pretty fun - it was a Sunday School party with the "young" people. They're mostly in their 30's and several of them have small children. They are so much fun to be with.
Saturday, we got up and cooked a big breakfast - with Bacon, had late lunch - with Bratwurst, and Papa smoked ribs for my birthday dinner. I think I was starting to grow a curly tail by the time I got back to Knoxville on Sunday night. It was a fun day Saturday. Just taking it easy and hanging out with my parents. I also visited with my friend Katie and got to see her new house! It is a great house in a great neighborhood in Taylors. Saturday night Nellie got our friends together for a little outing at our favorite place in downtown Greenville. We had a few drinks, played darts and just hung out. It was SO, SO, SO much fun.
Sunday, we all went to church together at Ben and Beth's church - First Pres in Greer. Gabe, Ashley, Hamilton, my parents and Beth's family were all there. Little Dot was being baptized. It was a great service and she did so good! Caldwell was really good too! Hamilton was in the nursery. We all went over to Ben and Beth's for lunch and it was so fun! I hope to have a family photo soon to post here. Caldwell and Hamilton had fun playing together and Dot slept while we were there. I just so loved spending time with my family. It has been about 6 months since we've all been together and I am glad that Dot was able to bring us together!
It was a great weekend and makes me totally homesick for South Carolina. This past week at work has been too busy to be homesick, which is a good thing :)
Sounds like a blast!!! Good for the soul. :) Miss you!!
