I love the movie Night at the Museum. I have yet to see the second one but my favorite character from the movie is one of the old guys, Gus (Mickey Rooney), who used to be one of the security guards before Larry (Ben Stiller). He's hilarious! He has all these nick-names that he uses for Larry and some great one-liners. He's just hilarious and it cracks me up because he's like this 80 year old man. A couple of my favorite quotes of his are:
Listen up, Lunch Box!
Do you want the job or not, snack shack?
Sweet dreams, cupcake.
Sleep tight, hotshot.
Keep a lid on it, butterscotch.
Do you want to dance, hot dog?
Look here, Hop Scotch!
There are a couple of other funny things that I've discovered this week. They are fantastic time wasters!

Always Changing
Previously I wrote a post about change and how the only constant in life is change. I think that it's mostly a good thing even though it's usually hard to understand. This week, my plans changed. Quite a few times. Thanks go out to my boss who can't make a decision until the last minute and who is unconcerned with the plans of anyone else.
So this weekend I had plans to be in Johnson City with friends. I was super excited about seeing these friends, who I haven't been able to spend much time with lately, and going to Rhythm and Roots...a music festival in Bristol. Well, that didn't exactly happen. I was totally bummed. But it turned out to be a pretty good weekend in Knoxville anyway! I went to dinner with a long time friend Friday night in Market Square to a new Knoxville restaurant and then walked around World's Fair Park, which is awesome. It just made me realize even more how much I love Knoxville! Saturday, I shopped with Mel and then went to....are you ready for this....Dixie Stampede. I hadn't ever been before and it's every bit as cheesy as I thought it was going to be, but it's pretty fun and entertaining and the food is really good, except that you have to eat it with your fingers.
So, even though things didn't go as planned, it turned out to be a good weekend!

Weekend Update
Well, this probably won't be as funny as Weekend Update from Saturday Night Live!
This has been a pretty great weekend! I worked in Johnson City all week and got home around 6 Friday night, went to dinner and then to see The Breakfast Club! They're an 80s coverband and it was awesome! I've seen them perform a lot but it is always so much fun! I went with a bunch of Carson-Newman friends and saw a bunch of other Carson-Newman people there too! It was great! Saturday I went to lunch with Nancy and Jerry - who were stopping by on their way to Kentucky. It was a great visit with Greenville friends. I watched the game (Tennessee) nd cooked dinner with Whit. They lost but it was good to hang out with her and just relax!
It has been a good weekend with friends and so much fun! I'm back to JC this week for work. Hoping to hang out with friends while I'm there too!

Loving Knoxville
Well, as of this coming Monday, September 7, I will have been in Knoxville for 2 months! Kind of unbelievable.
Things I love in Knoxville:
1. Home: I love my new home. It's a great neighborhood, some-what odd neighbors, but great location and great space.
2. Friends: I love being so close to college friends. I've had something to do every weekend that I've been here and it's because I'm so close to so many college friends. It really is fantastic. I love meeting new people but there is something about old, comfortable friendships that is special.
3.Work: Work is going great. I am really enjoying the work, my co-workers (most of the time) and manager/boss. We all work well together.
4: The City: Knoxville is a great place to live. It is overrun by college students though! I think campus is part of what makes Knoxville so great. There's this extra energy in the air! Especially this week with it almost being "Football time in Tennessee!" They'll be playing Rocky Top on the radio starting this afternoon. I'm going to the game tomorrow and am expecting to hear it at least 50 times :)
